Records: Bishop McDevitt (3-5, 2-3); Conwell-Egan (2-6, 0-5) 

Most Recent Performance: Bishop McDevitt fell to host Lansdale Catholic, 23-20, on a last-second field goal. Conwell-Egan lost at West Catholic, 38-14.

Importance: Neither team has been able to imitate last year’s success. McDevitt is searching for momentum while Conwell-Egan is trying to avoid becoming the only CL team in history to go from undefeated one year to winless the next.

All-Time Record: Conwell-Egan leads, 30-26-2, and has won the last five meetings.

Bishop McDevitt Notes:The Lancers are trying to avoid another “1-2” punch. After their first win, they lost twice. After their next win, they lost twice again. After their next win, they lost . . . Senior quarterback Lonnie Rice has provided almost 80 percent of the offense. He has rushed for 599 yards and scored nine touchdowns; he has completed 51 passes for 861 yards and six scores . . . Sophomore Emmanuel Sia has become McDevitt’s big-play guy. His eight receptions have amassed a staggering 250 yards.  

Conwell-Egan Notes: Eagles have lost six straight by an average margin of 31-13 . . . Junior Khian’Dre Harris has averaged 81 yards over last four games. He has scored on two rushes, one reception, and a kickoff return . . . Junior quarterback Tyler Berry had his best game of the season last week, completing 7 of 18 passes for 150 yards and a touchdown . . . Eagles finish at currently winless Cardinal O’Hara on October 25.

LANCER CHAT: “The importance of this game to the team is everything,” said junior guard Dahmir Mosby. “We had a rough season. We are just trying to finish strong. As we’ve said before, we have a young team and we are building brick by brick. That’s the motto. This game is no different from any other game. It’s all about being 1-0 every week. Nothing more, nothing less.”

EAGLE CHAT: “This game is very important for our team,” said senior linebacker/fullback Chris Majors. “We need to stay focused and try as hard as we can to win these last two games, but first, we have to focus on this one.” 

Prediction: Bishop McDevitt opens an early lead and holds on for a 21-13 win.
