PHILADELPHIA--Germantown Friends School (GFS) came out strong tallying three goals on their first three shots en route to a robust 6-2 victory over Moorestown Friends School in the Friends Schools League (FSL) soccer Championship  game hosted by GFS on Monday, Nov. 1.

The Tigers went undefeated this season with a 7-0 league record.

The six-goal game is a new FSL record for goals scored in a championship game for both the girls' and boys' programs. The victory is also the second in program history for GFS Girls Soccer, the first won in 2014.

Senior co-captain Annie McLaughlin led the Tigers offensively with a hat trick. Defensively, the team was impenetrable most of the match, led by Maya Orenstein and goalkeeper Sam Zimmer.  Two goals by junior Margaret Harvey and another by senior Cadence Kelly sealed the victory.

GFS will travel to the Academy of Notre Dame to face the Irish in Round 1 of the PAISAA State Championship on Monday, Nov. 8  at 3:00 p.m.
