It was not a pretty sight at Archbishop Ryan High School last night if you were a St. Hubert’s soccer fan. The Bambies were scored on early, and then again, and then again, and yet again, until the Ragdolls had scored six times.

The final score 6-1, with the Archbishop Ryan Ragdolls, the girls’ soccer juggernaut in the Catholic League, coming out on top.

The Ragdolls looking to four-peat this year improve their record to an impressive 7-0-1 on the year. The only game that the Ragdolls did not come out on top was a draw against the other powerhouse in the Catholic League, Archbishop Wood.

The offensive explosion started when sophomore Maddie Taylor scored. Senior standout Allie Maszlanka also added a goal.

The star of the night was senior, Jules Blank, a Temple University verbal commit. Blank provided the firepower needed to lift the Ragdolls to victory by scoring four goals on the night. One of the goals came on a penalty kick after Taylor drew a foul in the box.

The lone goal for the Bambies was scored by junior, Dominque Calio. But it just was not the Bambies’ night as they fell to their Northeast Philadelphia rival for the fifth straight year.

This game is Ryan’s second offensive explosion in the last two weeks as they defeated Neumann-Goretti by a score of 8-0 last Thursday.

The quest for a fourth plaque in four years continues for the Ragdolls on Thursday when they travel to Bonner-Prendergast.
