LANSDALE, PA - The Lansdale Catholic girls’ tennis team is on a winning streak. Over the past two weeks, they have defeated Little Flower, Archbishop Carroll and most recently Archbishop Ryan on Tuesday. All three matches ended with a final score of 5-0. The team and coach are thrilled with these standings as they continue on into the second half of their season.

Lansdale Catholic has defeated Bonner-Prendie, St. Hubert's, Little Flower, Archbishop Carroll and Archbishop Ryan. The remaining teams they have yet to play are Archbishop Wood and Cardinal O'Hara.

With a league record of 6-0, head coach Wendy Bradshaw said that the team is playing beyond her expectations.

"Having this as my first season with Lansdale Catholic tennis, I only met them in August and had no idea what to expect,” Bradshaw said. “My expectations were to work hard, become the best possible tennis players we could become, and have fun. They are more than meeting my expectations -- they work hard, have fun while doing it and have improved more than I could have hoped for."

Senior, Molly Smith, who plays first singles, also added her thoughts on the team's record. “I think the current record of the team illustrates the hard work that we have put into this season thus far. I think we have a great start to the season and I am excited to see what we will do in the near future," Smith said.

As the upcoming matches take place throughout these next couple of weeks, the team continues to stay positive and strive for even more success.

Smith discussed her goals for the team. "In the upcoming matches I am expecting the same work ethic that our team has had so far. I think by playing each match one at a time, we are able to focus on the prominent situation," said Smith.

As the ten seniors get ready to finish off their last season on the team, the remaining players are upset to see their teammates graduate, but are excited to see what the future holds.

Junior, Brenna Husk, added, “I'm really going to miss the seniors next year as both excellent players and teammates, but even more in the friendships we've developed over the past couple of years.  Each one of them has taught and helped me both on and off the courts, and it'll be strange not playing and sharing laughs with them every day at practice and matches.  Still, I look forward to improving throughout the year to fill the role of this year’s seniors and making my senior year another great season.”
