Germantown Academy Girls' Volleyball Team Clinches The 2015 Inter-Ac League Title

PHILADELPHIA - What a season for Germantown Academy's Girls’ fall volleyball team! 

Maintaining their flawless, 7-0  league record (12-1). The Patriots beat Springside Chestnut Hill Academy 3-0 on Tuesday night. GA won 25-17, 25-14. 25-19, claiming the 2015 Inter-Ac League title.

Captain Grace Polisano led the way with 15 kills, three digs, two blocks and four aces, Carley Pruitt had nine kills, one dig, one block and one ace. Junior Emma Rapp had five kills, four digs and four aces. Sophomore Jenna Schumann had four kills, three digs, and five aces. Junior Abby Starzecky had one kill and one ace.  Erin Lindahl had nine digs and sophomore Cat Polisano had 32 assists, one kill and one ace.

“This is only our fourth year of having a team in the fall season and we have been getting more and more successful every year. It’s very exciting,” said Head Coach Daniel Sullivan.

Sullivan also contributes their success to the trickling effects of its senior leadership. Led by captains Grace Polisano, Erin Lindahl, Carly Pruitt and seniors Katie DePietro and Diana Ingham, the fivesome have been with the program since its inception.

On Monday, The Patriots defeated the Academy of The New Church 3-0 in the first round of the PAISAA Tournament.  GA ends their regular season Thursday, October 29th, when they play against Agnes Irwin.
