WARMINSTER - In a close 1-0 game against Bishop McDevitt in round one of the PCL Field Hockey Playoffs, the Lady Vikings sent their fans home happy, winning the game at home.

With both teams defensively shutting down attack after attack, there was an extremely close game of field hockey in Warminster this afternoon. Neither team could produce anything, as stellar defensive play shone throughout the game. With two minutes left on the clock and overtime looming, in a huge cluster of players right in front of the McDevitt net, Wood's #33 Breanna Wade put in the game winner.

Although the goal was scored officially as unassisted, Wade credits the goal to her teammates. "I'm so excited to move on, and we really want to win it all," said Wade.

An animated McDevitt bench kept supporting their players until the final whistle blew. However, with the scoreboard reminding them of their loss, the once hopeful cheers of the team dampened into the classic, "we'll-get-'em-next-year" consolations.

The Lady Vikings are heading to the next round against #1 seed Cardinal O’Hara. Number two seed Archbishop Carroll will play #3 seed Bonner & Prendie.

Both games will be played, Monday, November 2nd.
