AIS vs Penn Charter

ROSEMONT - Despite the relatively mild weather, it took the Owls  a little time to warm-up against league rival and defending PAISAA champion Penn Charter.

But that did not last very long once junior Lydia Bartosh opened up with an unassisted goal. Bartosh scored with a bending shot from deep in the corner on the end line.

Now wide awake, the Owls (6-4, 8-5-1) added another goal with less than one minute left in the first half. Eighth grader Natalie Pansini touched the ball wide to senior captain Kristin Burnetta who buried a shot low making the score 2-0.

Penn Charter got a goal break early in the second half. Any chance of making a comeback was quickly diverted when Pansini played a touch pass in the box, this time a drop to senior captain Emily Fryer. Fryer drilled a finish past the Penn Charter goal keeper.

AIS's junior Kendall Shein made 7 saves in goal for the Owls. This win completes a sweep by AIS over Penn Charter in Inter Ac play.

Next stop for AIS is on the road when they play against Springside Chestnut Hill Academy on Friday Nov. 6th.
