Girls' Field Hockey: Episcopal Dominates In Win Over Agnes Irwin

NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA - Episcopal Academy added yet another "W" to its perfect season yesterday afternoon with a 7-2 win over Agnes Irwin. 

Although Agnes Irwin scored the first goal putting the Owls up 1-0, the Churchwomen answered back with four uninterrupted goals leading into halftime. 

Scoring for Episcopal were Corinne Zanolli with three goals, Margaux Paolino with two goals and Lexi Fischer with two goals.

Episcopal's head coach Gina Buggy commented on her teams dominant offensive play stating, "Great team effort to finish up our regular season. Crisp short and long passing, led to multiple scoring opportunities. We finished strong." 

In addition to the excitement in winning yesterday's game, the Churchwomen also have three players that were selected  to play on the USA Field Hockey U21 and U19 National Teams. Maddie Bacskai and Margaux Paolino were selected to play on the U21 team and Corrine Zanolli will play on the U19 team. Agnes Irwin's standout offensive player Julianna Tornetta, who scored her 100th career goal last week, was also selected to play on the U21 National Team.
