Villanova Prevails in Opener

Ranked 11th in the nation, Big East favorite Villanova opened their season Friday Night in strong fashion. They defeated Farleigh Dickinson 91-54 in a wire to wire win.

Villanova dominated every facet of the game but had the biggest advantage inside. Daniel Ochefu, entering his senior season, led the way with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

This game also marked the much anticipated debut of star recruit Jalen Brunson. He started at point guard and led the offense for most of his time. He finished with 12 points and 4 assists on an efficient 4 for 6 shooting line.

Returning starter Ryan Arcidiacono moved over to starting shooting guard and delivered with 12 points and 4 assists of his own. Big East tournament most valuable player Josh Hart added 10 along with 6 rebounds.

The Young Farleigh Dickinson Knights have 11 of their 13 players entering this year as underclassman. Sophomore Darian Anderson led the way with 21 points in the loss.
