WARMINSTER, PA – Although only four games into the 2015-16 season, Archbishop Wood's boys' basketball team is playing in great form and looks as though they will have little problems creating future success on the court.

With a 4-0 record, Wood has been producing stunning results so far early in the season. Last Wednesday, Wood hosted Bishop McDevitt in their Philadelphia Catholic League opener. Wood waltzed their way to the win with a halftime score of 40-7 and a final of 74-45.

Having high-power players on the team such as Andrew Funk, Matt Cerruti, and Tyree Pickron (who often put between 14 to 22 points on the board for their team APIECE), Wood has shown that its offense can be relentless.

Another one of Wood's star players, Tom Funk, who committed to Army, scored 12 points in last week's Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament.

Funk commented that Wood's defense is big and gets a lot of stops, and that's how they manage to produce such slaughtering results.

Wood’s defense allowed just 7-points in the entire first half vs. McDevitt, attributing to their 29-point victory.

Although the Wood has started their season out strong, only time will tell what the future holds for the team.

Wood continues league play on January 4th, playing at West Catholic at 6:30 PM. McDevitt will continue with league play at home also on January 4th, vs. Archbishop Carroll at 7 PM.
