GLENSIDE, PA- The La Salle basketball team faced their biggest test this season when they played Conwell-Egan at home Friday night. The Explorers were looking to extend their unbeaten run in the PCL while Conwell-Egan was determined to end it.

Conwell-Egan came out of the gates strong and continued to lead La Salle for most of the game. However, La Salle slowly inched their way back and was able to tie up the score at 41 when junior Jarrod Stukes buried a crucial free throw. With less than a minute remaining, La Salle and Egan both missed shots to put themselves ahead, thus sending the game with a 45-45 score into overtime.

In overtime, the Explorers quickly pulled ahead and were up 50-45. A late three from Egan’s LaPri McCray-Pace put La Salle in danger, but the Explorers were able to hold on for the win. The game finished 53-50.

La Salle, now 3-0 in the PCL, play Neumann-Goretti on January 11th.
