PHILADELPHIA – On Tuesday afternoon, William Penn Charter’s girls’ basketball team hosted Agnes Irwin in what was another great match-up of Inter-Ac foes.

From tip-off to the final buzzer, Penn Charter initiated full-court press, which quickly added to the intensity between both teams.

From the floor, Penn Charter’s all time leading scorer, Hannah Fox, put up 16 points with four assists and three steals. Alex Blomstrom led Agnes Irwin in the paint, adding 17 points.

Both teams played a physical first half, which led to a score of 27-20 in favor of the Quakers.

After the half the physicality continued – with a total of 30 fouls called (AIS 18, PC 12).

Despite the team effort from Agnes Irwin, Penn Charter sealed their third Inter-Ac win, 54-40.

Both Agnes Irwin and Penn Charter will continue league play at their home courts this Friday at 4PM. The Owls will host Epsicopal Academy and the Quakers will host Springside Chestnut Hill.
