PHILADELPHIA – Neumann-Goretti…

The reigning PIAA Class 2A state champions put an end to Cardinal O’Hara’s undefeated PCL record last night in South Philadelphia, winning their 45th straight game.

O’Hara, who was previously ranked No. 1 in the state this season, knew that they were going to have their work cut out for them going up against a team that consists of four Division 1 recruits (Alisha Kebbe, Kamiah Smalls, Morgan Lenahan, and Jada Russell).

The Lions led through the first quarter, before the tables turned in the Saints direction. With a little over two minutes remaining before the half, Neumann-Goretti scored 10 consecutive points.

From there O’Hara rallied to try and keep Neumann-Goretti’s momentum at a halt. Despite the blatant effort from the Lions, the Saints pulled away with the “W” with a final score 62-56.

Looking Ahead: Tomorrow, Neumann-Goretti will continue PCL play away vs. Hallahan at 6:30PM. This Friday, O’Hara will play West Catholic at home at 7PM.
