NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA- With an undefeated record and big win Thursday over the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur, the varsity girls' swim and dive team has won the Inter-Ac Championship.

EA's head coach Brian Kline credits countless hours of preparation and strong upperclassmen leadership for the team's success.

"The team came together as a group to make one of our team goals come true," said Kline.

The coaches, swimmers, and divers look to build off of the successes of this season as they head into the Inter-Academic Championship meets on February 1st and 2nd.

"I constantly tell both the boys' and girls' teams to remember to take each race or dive one at a time and support one another the entire way."

That philosophy certainly paid off this season.

Double winners in the final dual meet of the season against Notre Dame included: Co-Captain Sarah Baturka in the 50 and 500 yard freestyle, Emma Seiberlich in the 100 freestyle and backstroke, and Alex Sumner in the 200 IM and 100 fly.

"While the excitement of going undefeated (7-0) and being Inter-AC champs is a lofty goal that has been met for the season, the team now has its sights set on a much larger goal, the upcoming Eastern Interscholastic Swimming and Diving Championships,” said Kline

The meet takes place February 19-20 at La Salle University.
