RADNOR, PA – Arch Bishop Carroll advances in playoff battle. Prendie girls scrap hard but fall short 41-31.

Thursday night, when the Panda’s visited the Carroll for some post season action, the Patriots did not walk away with an easy victory. At the half it was Prendie up by eight. Senior, Princess Clemmons and sophomore, Emily Monaghan had strong first halves combining for 15 points at the break.

“They got to the open spots, and we knew if we could get the ball into the middle we could get some things in penetration,” said Carroll head coach, Tom Nearny. “The double shots that fell from the outside just helped us all the way around.”

Carroll showed confidence coming in at the second half making strong layups that were products of the strong presence in the middle by Carroll. This aggressive play accelerated the team’s confidence according to Neary.

Sophomore Molly Masciantonio had a great night from three-point range hitting 12 of her 16 from beyond the arc.

Junior, Bella Sorrentino had a strong night contributing with one bucket from far away and capitalizing on drawing fouls going four for four from the free throw line.

Carroll will move on to play Neumann-Goretti in the PCL semi-finals at Philadelphia University on Tuesday, February 16th. Tip-off is at 8PM.
