FORT WASHINGTON, PA- Germantown Academy Girls’ basketball team has clinched the 2015-16 Inter-Ac League Championship for the second year in a row after defeating Academy of Notre Dame de Namur this Wednesday, 43-26.

The team has been on an unstoppable 14 game winning streak since late December having only lost 2 games this season: one to Neumann-Goretti, the other to Lake Highland Prep in Naples, FL.

The core of this team’s strength lies within its talented seniors: Maeve Connor, Erin Lindahl, Kendall Grasela, Lauren Oeth and Leena Kardacz.

According to Germantown Academy head coach Sherri Retif, it’s the chemistry of that senior leadership that has shaped the outcome of this season.

Retif who has been at the helm of this team for the past 18 seasons, has now garnered 16 consecutive Inter-Ac titles and 12 undefeated league records.

The Patriots have only two games left to play in regular season- One tonight against Penn Charter the other against Baldwin School on Tuesday, February 16th.

Germantown Academy (21-2, 9-0) has been named the number one overall seed in the Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association girls’ basketball tournament.

That tournament is set to take place next week.  For more information about the tournament please see the association’s website.
