RADNOR, PA- Archbishop Carroll moved past Archbishop Wood 77-70 in a double overtime thriller on Friday night. Catholic League MVP, Ryan Daly, led the way for Carroll with 30 points. Josh Sharkey added 17 points and 7 assists, along with making a number of clutch free throws down the stretch to seal the win for Carroll. Junior guard Colin Daly had 9 points on three three-pointers, two of those threes were late in the fourth quarter on back-to-back possessions to tie the game.

After the game, a still fired up Ryan Daly said, “It’s always fun to be apart of games like that, especially when your able to come out of it with a win. Tonight was a total team effort. Seeing my little brother step up like that was awesome, I had to control myself from getting to excited for him.”

Carroll's head coach Paul Romanczuk addresses his team

Senior captain John Rigsby was already focused on the Patriots next test at The Palestra.

“This was a great game and a great win, but now it’s time to get focused on beating Roman. Getting to The Palestra was not our goal, our goal is to win the Catholic League, we’ve done what we needed to do so far, but there is still work to be done,” said Rigsby.

Carroll beat Roman 64-51 during their regular season matchup. The rematch is set for 8:45PM, Wednesday night at The Palestra.
