PHILADELPHIA- In yet another powerhouse performance, the Neumann-Goretti Girls' Basketball Team dominated their way past Archbishop Carroll to earn their spot in the Philadelphia Catholic League final on Monday night.

The Saints (23-0) overall controlled the court against the Patriots (11-13) the entire game.

When a basketball team has multiple players that are capable of scoring 10+ points apiece, it's a good team- heck it’s a great team.

That is certainly the case with Neumann Goretti. James Madison recruit Kamiah Smalls (12 points), Chyna Nixon (13 points), and Syracuse recruit Alicia Kebbe (20 points) were on fire Tuesday night at the University of Philadelphia, heavily contributing to the team's 60-34 victory. The Saints are no doubt ready to give their all heading to the PCL Championship.

Goretti will once again face the Lady Vikings of Archbishop Wood (18-6) at the Palestra for the third year in a row.

The Saints have won 53 straight games. This is the second year the team has entered the PCL as the top seed under the leadership of head coach Andrea Peterson.

Peterson, who started her basketball career playing for Archbishop Carroll, knows that for her squad it’s attention to the simplest details that makes all the difference.

"We will continue to work on the things we need to do in order to be successful, come Monday night," said head coach Andrea Peterson. "Our first meeting against Archbishop Wood, a win for N-G was a good game and we all expect the same thing this time around.”

“Our preparation stays the same no matter who we face; focusing on defense and containing the ball along with executing our offense. We know that every team that plays us is going to rise to the occasion so we must do the little things and continue to play great basketball."

A great game indeed that you won’t want to miss. Tip-off is 7 p.m. Monday night, February 22.
