PHILADELPHIA, PA- Roman has not had much trouble scoring runs at the start of their season. Wednesday’s game against Lansdale Catholic at Boyce Park was no exception.

Batting in eight more runs to their impressive 47 runs they have already scored in their previous four games, Roman didn’t seem to have one easy out in their lineup.

Stellar pitching and batting led to Roman’s, 8-1 victory over Lansdale Catholic, giving them their second conference win.

After the first two innings the game was tied 1-1, but Roman’s junior pitcher, Aidan Welch, turned up the heat in the last five innings to complete the game letting up only three hits.

Roman’s shortstop, Noah Clement, had a big game with numerous stolen bases and two runs batted in. Fellow teammates, second basemen and right-handed pitcher Greg Grandelli and first basemen Victor Malizia led the scoring explosion in the bottom of the sixth for the Cahillites.

Batting in five of their eight runs in the sixth, Roman created a comfortable lead for themselves heading into the final inning,

Despite a valiant effort, the Crusaders were unable to make a comeback. Roman paired powerful bats with some brilliant gloves advancing to 4-1 on the season.

Roman’s next game is scheduled for April 11th against Father Judge at 4:00 pm.
