WARMINSTER, PA – The Archbishop Wood Girls' Lacrosse Team is a powerhouse, and Wednesday's game against Conwell-Egan proved just that.

With what appears to be the ultimate quartet of seniors, Wood's Erin Eckert (4 goals), Brenna Lynch (6 Goals), Sarah Welsh (2 goals), and Caroline Lang led Bridget Neiley (2 goals), Emma Craparo (1 goal), and the Lady Vikings to a 15-1 victory.

For Wood, the shots were just peppering the goal, with seemingly every one going in the cage.

Timeline:

-Eckert grabbed the first goal of the day only one minute into the game, which was then followed by a goal from Lynch two minutes after, making the score 2-0.

-Four and a half minutes in, Neiley got her first. Two minutes later, Eckert picked up her second of the day, putting four on the board for the Lady Vikings.

-Ten seconds later, Neiley got her second at the 18:35 mark, and Lynch tallied her second a minute and a half later, 6-0.

-After what seemed like a "long" three and a half minute lull in scoring, Welsh got her first of the day. One minute later, Eckert got her hat trick, to make the score 8-0 with the clock showing 12:33 remaining – three seconds short of being exactly in the middle of the first half.

-Wood's pressure relaxed a bit, only picking up two more goal (Lynch's hat trick and 4th goal), and went into the half with a 10-0 lead.

-In the second, Welsh grabbed her second goal of the afternoon on a penalty shot.

-Next, Lynch grabbed her 5th and 6th goals.

-Craparo then put her sole goal of the afternoon on the board, followed by Eckert’s fourth goal.

-With 40 seconds left on the clock, Egan snuck one in, scratching Wood's "clean sheet."

Eckert talks about her signing with Philly U and her trick shot goal.

Lynch talks about her teams' success and what attributed to their win

After the game, Archbishop Wood’s head coach, Dipi Bhaya, couldn’t help but gush over her hardworking team.

"We have an amazing group of girls here at Wood," said Coach Dipi Bhaya. "I am very lucky and grateful to have such great kids and great qualities, so that's what's really nice. They had fun today, so that made it even better. Playing a conference game as the first game of the week at home made it exciting, and the fact that [PhillySportsDigest] was here made it exciting."

Coach Bhaya also commended senior, Brenna Lynch, on her work ethic and evident leadership skills.

“She is definitely, obviously, one of our strong players,” said Bhaya. “She's a captain, she's a leader, she's got precision on her shot, she can shoot hard, she can shoot finesse, she can shoot far out, she has a beautiful riser, and that's what makes her special for us. And she can also assist too, so she's not just about scoring goals."

Looking Ahead: Archbishop Wood will play its next PCL match-up against Archbishop Ryan on Tuesday April 26th. Conwell-Egan is set to play Hallahan on Thursday April 28th.
