The highlight of the day was the 4x400m relay team of Jen Dietrich '17, Ellie Greenberg '16, Sarah Park '16 and Absara Irgau '18. The team  brought home the first place gold medal with a time of 3:58.83, just missing the state record by .2.

After watching the 4x400m team win the gold medal, head coach Ije Iheoma couldn’t help but express his excitement due to his team’s continued success.

"This relay team continues to amaze me with their strong performances,” said coach Iheoma. “They have done something that no other Baldwin track relay team has ever done before. They left a legacy of excellence and it was an honor to coach them and watch them succeed on and off the track."

The Bears track program has made great strides in the past three years. Baldwin finished ninth place overall out of 16 schools and scored 45 points at the PAISAA meet - medaling in five different events.

Individually, very few athletes win four medals in a meet. Jennifer Dietrich won a school record taking home four medals (1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze) at the PAISSA meet. Teammate Ellie Greenberg took home three medals (1 gold and 2 silver).

"This is our best finish in program history. I am so proud of all the team's accomplishments this spring season and look forward to continuing to grow and develop track and field at Baldwin," said Iheoma.
