PHILADELPHIA – On a rainy Saturday afternoon, Father Judge hosted Archbishop Wood at Northeast High School in a PCL red division match-up.

The Vikings took advantage of opportunities early, giving them a 21-0 lead over the Crusaders by halftime. After the half, Wood scored another touchdown, but Father Judge was not about to be shut-out at home. The Crusaders managed to score a touchdown at the end of the fourth quarter. Saturday’s 28-7 win marked Wood’s third consecutive division victory.

This coming Friday, Wood will host Archbishop Carroll at 7PM at William Tennent HS. Father Judge will also play Friday evening in another tough PCL match-up. The Crusaders will travel to face St. Joe’s Prep at the Hawk’s home field at Widener University. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:30PM.

As for PCL blue: Conwell-Egan faced off against Bishop McDevitt on Saturday evening at Cheltenham HS. The Eagles blanked the Lancers 28-0. This win marked Conwell-Egan’s fourth consecutive victory, with three of those wins occurring against division teams.

Looking ahead, Conwell-Egan will look to continue their win streak against Cardinal O’Hara in a battle for first place of PCL blue. The Eagles will host the Lions in their homecoming game at Harry S Truman HS this Friday at 7PM. Bishop McDevitt will play an out of league game on Saturday against Wilmington Friends HS before facing West Catholic on Friday Oct. 21st.
