PHILADELPHIA – The Germantown Academy Patriots and St. Joseph’s Prep Hawks met in a non-league match-up Wednesday evening at Philadelphia University.
The Patriots took advantage of an early 17-9 lead at the end of the first quarter and scored another 11 points in the second to increase their lead to 28-14 at the half.
Despite a blatant team effort from the Hawks, the Patriots continued their momentum with senior Kyle McCloskey commanding the floor with 23 points and 11 rebounds. GA’s defense held St. Joe’s to 13 points in the second half leading to a 67-27 victory for the Patriots. Prep junior, Edward Croswell, totaled 13 points in the contest.
Looking Ahead: Germantown Academy (4-0) will compete in their 20th Annual Make A Wish Basketball Showcase, which will take place at Germantown Academy on December 16th and 17th. St. Joe’s Prep (1-2) will travel on the road to face another non-league Inter-Ac opponent, the Haverford School, on Saturday, Dec. 17th at 3PM.
