FAIRLESS HILLS, PA – Last night, the Saints of Neumann-Goretti left their home in South Philadelphia to play their second league game of the season against Conwell-Egan.
The Eagles managed to keep a close hold on the reigning PIAA 3A state champs, only trailing Goretti by 11 points at the half, 39-28.
However, the Saints maintained and added to their lead in the second half making it difficult for Egan to secure the win on their home court. In the end, Neumann-Goretti defeated Conwell-Egan 76-45 adding a second PCL victory to their 2017 season resume.
Looking Ahead: Neumann Goretti (5-4, 2-0) will travel to Wheeling, WV to play Wheeler High School (GA) on Saturday morning at 11:40a.m. and will resume league play at home vs. Cardinal O’Hara on Monday, Jan. 9th at 7PM. Conwell-Egan (4-6, 0-2) will host Simon Gratz in a non-league match-up tonight at 7PM before resuming PCL play against La Salle at home on Monday, Jan. 9th also at 7PM.
