WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: PENN MAKES HISTORY ADVANCES TO CHAMPIONSHIP WITH WIN OVER BROWN

PHILADELPHIA—  Saturday afternoon at the historic Palestra, history was again being made as the University of Pennsylvania Women’s Basketball team (21-7. 13-1 league) defeated Brown (16-12,7-7), 71-60 in the very first Ivy League Tournament game.

With this victory, the Lady Quakers sealed their seat in tomorrow’s championship final. They will play the winner of tonight’s No. 2 Princeton vs. No. 3 Harvard semifinal match-up scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The game can be seen on ESPN3.

Michelle Nwokedi led the victory with a game high 25 points. Beth Brzozowski added 16 points and Sydney Stipanovich added 8 points.
