LANSDALE, PA - On Wednesday afternoon, over 20 student-athletes from Lansdale Catholic were recognized in front of their family members, coaches and teachers for continuing their athletic careers in college.

“I think Lansdale Catholic, especially when Mr. Tom Quintois (LC Athletic Director) came in, really turned our athletic program around. In his first year, the recruits we had increased by 10, and now this year we have 20. It is just a reflection of how well the program is developing,” said senior Noah Saba, who will play soccer at Widener University next year.

The honorees sporting their college colors took pictures with their families in attendance and celebrated their achievements  during an afternoon luncheon.

Ryan Braun – Basketball: “ I chose the University of Scranton because I just loved the campus and the school itself. All of the players were awesome.”

Pat Burnham – Lacrosse: “I chose Kings College because I knew that’s where I wanted to spend the next four years. All of the teammates were very nice and it felt like home for me.”

Egobumma Onu – Volleyball: “I chose Duquesne University because of the athletic and academic opportunity.”

Dave Saulino – Football: “I chose Kutztown University because it had a great atmosphere on campus and I thought it felt like home.”

Gabby Huber addresses why she chose to run cross-country at Gwynedd Mercy University

Ifeanyichukwu Okorji – Football: “I chose Central Connecticut State University because, while other schools were talking with me, they decided to extend an offer of a scholarship. It had a great atmosphere and a fantastic football team.”

Bob Bausman – Lacrosse: “I was considering other schools but I found Immaculata to be a great fit for me and I really liked the school.”

Jacqui Jester – Lacrosse: “I was thankful for the opportunity to visit many other Division I schools, but Rutgers was the best fit for me and I can’t wait to be there.”

Ryan MacDonald – Lacrosse: “I chose Gwynedd Mercy University out of a couple different schools because I like the environment at the school and can make an impact on the team as a freshman.”
