INTER-AC GIRLS’ LAX –

League play has officially kicked off for all 7 Inter-Ac teams. For some, this first week brought joy and triumph – for others it was a tough reveille on the upcoming season. Win or lose, the hard-fought battles taught every team that this season will certainly not be easy and that the league crown is for the taking.

Agnes Irwin kicked off league play battling against the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur on March 22. The Irwins defeated the Irish 11-2 with Sydney Wolfington leading the attack with four goals. AIS goalie Hailey Andress recorded a career high of 20 saves during the match-up.

The Irish bounced back this past week securing two league wins against Germantown Academy and William Penn Charter. Notre Dame notched 22 goals to GA’s 11 with sophomore, Claire Gola tallying 5 goals for the Irish. During the contest, senior Mackenzie Irvine scored her 100th career goal. Irvine set the tone for another teammate to achieve a career milestone. Three days later, Claire Nappi scored her 100th goal in Notre Dame’s 6-5 victory over Penn Charter. Nappi and teammate Kelly Coyle each scored 2 goals to lead the Irish past the Quakers.
