SPRINGFIELD, PA – It was a hard-hitting match Friday evening at Cardinal O’Hara High School, as the lady Lions hosted Archbishop Carroll in an intense battle for first place of the Philadelphia Catholic League.
Carroll (6-0 PCL) and O’Hara (5-1 PCL) each entered the game without a league loss to their names.
The Patriots took a two-set lead heading into the third set, but the Lions would not let their visitors leave without an enduring fight. O’Hara managed to force a fourth set against the defending PCL champions.
Despite the valiant effort from the home squad, Carroll left with a 3-1 victory and now sits atop of the PCL girl's volleyball leaderboard.
Looking Ahead: Cardinal O’Hara will host St. Hubert’s (6-1 PCL) tomorrow at 5:30PM. Carroll will also play at home tomorrow vs. Little Flower (2-5 PCL) at 7:00PM.
