INTER-ACADEMIC LEAGUE GAME OF THE WEEK

Who: Episcopal Academy vs. Penn Charter

When: 2:30 PM Saturday, November 4

Where: Penn Charter High School

Records: Episcopal 5-3, 2-1; Penn Charter 7-1, 2-1

Most Recent Performance: Episcopal blanked Germantown Academy, 18-0; Penn Charter defeated Springside Chestnut Hill, 28-7.

Importance: The winner still maintains a chance at a league title. The team that loses will be eliminated from that possibility.

All-Time Record: Penn Charter leads, 83-42-2.

Episcopal Notes: The Churchmen’s running game is a force. Leading the way is junior back DeeWil Barlee, who has reached triple digits in yardage six of the past seven games . . . Episcopal will close out the season against visiting Haverford School.

Penn Charter Notes: Junior Eddie Saydee did it again last week. His 155 yards and two scores on 21 carries gave him 12 touchdowns for the season. He also leads the secondary with three interceptions . . . Not to be overlooked, senior quarterback Will Samuel hooked up with senior receiver John Washington four times for 116 yards and two touchdowns . . . The Quakers will host Germantown Academy in next week’s season finale.

CHURCHMEN CHAT: “This game, like every other in the Inter-Ac, is a championship game,” said senior two-way lineman Mike McFillin. “Whoever wins this game, Penn Charter or us, is competing with Malvern for the title the following week. So like every other Inter-Ac game, this is a championship game and we are coming out with the mentality that it is.”
“It's a huge a week,” said senior two-way lineman Adam Klein. “We are still in the hunt for the Inter-Ac title and every game still matters even bigger now. We are looking forward to the challenge. Penn Charter is fast and physical. They will be a great challenge and we are excited about it.”

QUAKER CHAT:  “We are treating this game the same as any other game,” said junior tight end/defensive end Ryan Maloney. “We will be playing hard on every down and following our goal to win out for the rest of the season.”
“We need to continue to play hard and fast, and minimize little mistakes,” said senior wide receiver/cornerback John Washington. “We know what we're capable of, so we just have to go out and play Penn Charter football.”

Prediction: If these two teams played 10 times, they’d most likely split. But they only play once. When the season started, it looked like Penn Charter was the team to beat. We stay on the Quaker bandwagon following a 24-21 victory.
