FAIRLESS HILLS, PA – On Thursday evening, the lady Vikings of Archbishop Wood traveled to take on the lady Eagles of Conwell-Egan in their fourth Philadelphia Catholic League game of the season.  The Vikings were coming off a tough loss against Neumann-Goretti on Tuesday and came out firing on all cylinders. Wood walked away with a dominant road win, posting a 73-17 victory. Despite the lengthy margin, the Eagles were not discouraged and still fought until the very last whistle.

Strong performances were turned in by Archbishop Wood’s Lindsay Tretter who had 13-points in the win, as well as Mia Andrews who totaled 10-points.  For Conwell-Egan, sophomore forward, Taiylor Bussey finished the night with 6-points and senior guard Alexis Mitchem had 5-points.

Following the win, Wood improves to 3-1 in PCL play and will face off against Little Flower on Saturday, January 13. With the win, the Vikings continue on the path of achieving their end of season goals.

“We want to win a championship at the end of this season, but we also want to grow as a team and get better each and every day,” said Wood senior guard Katie May.

Conwell-Egan moves to 0-4 in PCL play and will look to obtain their first victory on Tuesday, January 16, in an away game against Archbishop Ryan.
