ARDMORE, PA - Philadelphia funk band Swift Technique gathered Tuesday night with their friends Kuf Knotz, Carlos Brown and Rocco Rosini at The Range Recording in Ardmore, Pennsylvania to record a new rendition of the Philadelphia Eagles’ fight song just in time for the NFC Championship game on Sunday Evening.

New Eagles Fight Song by Swift Technique:

The track has modern hip-hop lyrics and a funky bass line. But it also features strong gospel vocals from Chelsea Viacava and a little surprise for those who listen carefully.

Trombonist Ian Gray is currently a member of the Mummer’s Whoa Phat Brass Band. A group of the Wenches Brigades and Pirates. A band that Gray says is quickly becoming everyone in the Mummers community’s favorite band to follow at the parade.

During the brainstorming for the recording session Tuesday night, Gray emphasized that he wanted to slip an old mummer favorite like “Glass Slippers’ or “Alabama Jubilee” into the new rendition. After working well into Wednesday morning, he and the rest of the band made it work.

Alabama Jubilee is sitting right there in the newest rendition of the Philadelphia Eagles Fight song, but not just for nostalgia. Producer Andy Hurwitz and the rest of the band wanted a song that was more representative of the city of Philadelphia. A song that not only got everyone amped up for the game, but presented a wide range of the genres of music in the city of brotherly love.

With a mixture of Funk, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Rock and Roll, R&B and Gospel, this rendition makes rooting for the Eagles in the NFC Championship that much more exciting.
