WYNDMOOR, PA – In a battle of unbeaten rivals, eight different players scored and the defense was stellar, leading La Salle to a 9-2 Catholic League lacrosse victory over visiting St. Joseph’s Prep Friday afternoon.

“The team played very well together,” said senior Matt Clibanoff. “We are figuring out our team identity and just trusting each other.

Clibanoff was the only multiple goal scorer for the Explorers, who raised their record to 6-0 in the Catholic League while the Hawks fell to 5-1. Other La Salle tallies were supplied by Joey Taylor (four assists), Ethan Lamond, Ethan Masucci, Chris Mockaitis, Shane Osborne, Rob Foster, and Zac Coar. Matt’s brother Michael provided stingy goaltending.

“Our face off and wing guys gave us the ball a lot and that's what helps in big games like this,” said Clibanoff. “During our three (non-league) losses this year, we learned a lot about ourselves. We just keep getting after it every day at practice and learning.

Looking Ahead: On Wednesday, May 2, 2018 St. Joseph’s Prep will host Father Judge in their next PCL match-up at 3:45 PM. La Salle will play away on Wednesday against Roman Catholic at the same time.
