GLENOLDEN, PA -On Friday night at the South Avenue Sports Complex, the Interboro Buccaneers celebrated senior night with their fourth consecutive victory over the Chester Clippers, winning with a final score of 36-20.

After a long Chester kickoff return to open the game and a quick two-play drive to score a touchdown, Interboro responded with 14 unanswered points of their own and ultimately found themselves ahead 28-12 going into halftime.

The second half was all Interboro as they quickly scored a touchdown and a two-point conversion to open the second half leaving the defense to stop Chester from any scent of a comeback and grinding out the clock for the senior night win.

Interboro was lead by an outstanding performance by senior running back Michael Moore who ran for 202 yards on 29 carries, tailing two touchdowns and converting two two-point conversions for the Bucs.

Moore went on to talk about how much his team has improved over the second half of the season after a rocky 2-3 start.

“Second half of the season I am very proud of the team,” said Moore. “In the beginning it was a little rough, but we started coming together as a team and getting our chemistry right.”

Interboro head coach Steve Lennox was more than impressed with Moore’s performance, and was happy for Moore to have put up a great performance on senior night.

“He is like a man-child out there,” said Lennox. “He did a very nice job tonight he is a very physical runner and I am very happy for him.”

Chester head coach LaDontay Ball looked at the positive side in defeat and mentioned how his team should keep their heads up and focus on finishing the season on a high note.

“Always a teachable moment,” said Ball. “I tell the young men it is the game of football, ‘yeah we love football, but at the end of the day it is a life lesson in the game of football, and in that life lesson there is adversity, handle it.’”
