FOOTBALL: The Interboro Bucs Walk Away with Yet Another Victory vs. Chester on their Senior Night

GLENOLDEN, PA –On Friday night, the Interboro Buccaneers gained the victory over the Chester Clippers at the South Avenue Sports Complex for the fourth consecutive year with a final score of 36-20.  

The 17-year-old senior running back, Michael Moore, was the star of the game with 29 carries, two touchdowns, two two-point conversions and ran for 202 yards.

“The most exciting part of tonight was when I kept moving and we got an extra 15 yards on the carry,” said Moore.  

The win made it extra special for him in addition to it being senior recognition night with having the support by his family and friends.  

“At first I was kind of nervous,” said Moore. “But once the game started going, I began feeding off the crowd and started doing better and better.”

Chester had two touchdowns in the first half, and a touchdown and two-point conversion in the fourth quarter.  Chester has an overall record of 2-7 this season and stands 1-3 in the conference.  Chester’s head coach LaDontay Bell was disappointed in his team’s loss, but has a positive outlook they will improve and perform better next time when versing Interboro.

“We have to know how to take on adversity and handle it the best we can,” said Bell.  “When things aren’t going the way we want them to we have to be able to adjust and remain coachable.”   

Interboro’s head coach Steven Lennox pushes his team to become better people and players since there is always room for improvement. He strategized a certain way that led them to the victory.     

“We try to work hard and try to condition so we don’t get tired.  We want to try to control the ball and I think we did a pretty good job,” said Lennox. 

The Bucs are now 4-5 this season and 2-2 in the conference.  Their next game is this Friday Oct. 26 at 7p.m. where they will take on the Glen Mills Bulls away for their final conference game.
