PHILADELPHIA –The Academy of Notre Dame Fighting Irish continued their winning streak as they swept the Blue Devils from Springside Chestnut Hill Academy in three straight sets.

Before this match, Notre Dame came in with a 11-2 record having two non-league losses to West Chester Rustin and Padua Academy. Springside started this match with a 3-8 record but came off a tough loss against Baldwin School. In the end, the Fighting Irish finished strong with set scores of 25-18, 25-7, and 25-17.

Head coach for Springside Chestnut Hill, Dave Noll, believes his team will find a strategy to improve this season. As head coach for the Blue Devils for three years now, he knows that they will bounce back.

“We will just work on some of our deficiencies and keep trying to perfect our strategy,” said Noll. “We have an idea of what we are trying to do, we just didn’t perform it very well today. We’ll get right back in the gym and work on that and come back.”

The Fighting Irish continue to have a strong team dynamic that has helped them to dominate their 2018 season. Senior captain, Lexi Shreiner, set the tone for the rest of her team with her strong leadership on the court.

“My team motivates me to be a strong leader,” said Shreiner, who had a phenomenal game. “They encourage me so that helps me to encourage the whole team and we all encourage each other so it is not just one person.”

Notre Dame head coach, Mike Sheridan, showed dedication to his players and knew that their team effort is what made them a united force against SCH and other teams this season.
